CROSSING THE RUBICON not only tells the story of two lovers separated through loss of life on the physical plane, but of the realization that there truly is life after death...on both sides of the veil.
“Crossing the Rubicon” refers to the event in 49 BC when Julius Caesar led his army across the Rubicon River, signifying a point of no return. A year and a half after his passing, Randy Connolly made it clear to his wife Heidi that this was to be the name of their new book to validate their ongoing relationship across all realms and dimensions. To reassure her that, while they had passed the “point of no return” in human terms, their powerful, loving partnership would continue in energetic form forever.
The downloaded verses reach directly into the reader’s heart and soul, yet it is Heidi Connolly’s naked story of loss and ultimate renewal through her acquired ability to converse with Randy—and other spirit beings—that bridges the world of grief with the world of new beginnings, offering each of us a way to cross the threshold of our own personal Rubicon to a renewed life of happiness, joy, and possibility.

"I loved [Heidi's audio book]. The poems are so incredibly powerful -- it's amazing to me how the words are able to capture that depth of pure love, its essence and multidimensional qualities. The flute music behind it [provides] the perfect touch; a beautiful soundtrack that adds even more life to the words." - Jeffrey Marks, Presenter at 2015 Afterlife Conference, author of Your Magical Soul, winner of the 2012 Nautilus Silver Book Award in the Science & Cosmology category and Silver Finalist of the 2012 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Book Award in Body, Mind & Spirit, and of The Afterlife Interviews Volume I, finalist in New Age Non-Fiction in the 2013 USA Best Book Awards.

again proof that life goes on and that there is no such thing a "death," except for the physical body. Crossing the Rubicon Past the Point of No Return edition by Heidi Connolly Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

Crossing the Rubicon is a precious and beautiful tribute to the power of a deep and abiding love, a love strong enough to support the vessel whose job it is to carry you through the waves of pain and complex emotions that accompany the loss of a beloved. Heidi Connolly's words are an expression of the vulnerability and strength we all possess, attributes that, if we let them, can lead us to re-create our lives guided by the love that two souls share. This book is a gift to all those who have loved and lost . . . and those who continue to love. (J.T. Sines, Transpersonal psychologist)
The adjectives “powerful” and “exquisite” aren’t often used in pairs, but after reading Heidi Connolly’s exceptional chronicle--one of true and everlasting love celebrated in the highest form--these were the two words that immediately came to mind. Connolly’s story of the remarkable and liberating gift she received from her husband after he died is told tenderly, boldly, honestly, and without affect. It is a beautiful and moving union of poetry, prose, and personal illustrations, and offers a multitude of revelations and insights that readers won’t soon forget. The fact that Connolly never had written poetry before makes this book even more provocative and inspiring.
I highly recommend Crossing the Rubicon for those in grief who have lost a loved one. After death communications, which are now recognized as common and universal experiences, come in many different varieties. The message, however, is always the same I am OK, I am still here, and I still love you. Heidi's book is a beautiful and heart felt example of this fundamental principle.

Al Botkin, author of Induced After Death Communication A Miraculous Therapy for Grief and Loss
When we loose someone we love, many times we want to know if we can really still have them and be with them, albeit in a different form other than the physical. Grief can be a difficult journey toward healing so we look for all kinds of answers. The author takes us along that journey. Crossing the Rubicon is a real experience with grief and healing. The author is awakened one night by a voice. She knows that voice to be her husband who has recently passed on. She begins to record the experience in a poetic/prose form. She confirms to herself that indeed she can still be with her husband by way of the spirit. She reached out and he was there. This writing is a vital link for anyone who is on the journey of grief --Crossing the Rubicon is the reach of our spirit toward healing from grief. "I was moved more than I bargained for."
When Heidi and Randy married, their vows (which are included in this slim amazing little book) joined the thunder and the wind, as they do in the Hexagram of "Duration/Marriage" --(#32) in the I CHING, the ancient Chinese Book of Changes. While he was still alive, he wrote her love poems of such intensity (also included in this book) that it is no wonder that when he died of cancer she was not sure she wanted to go on living. Praying and seeking for a continuing connection (despite a very pragmatic Harvard education---) she was awakened at 3 am with a clear directive WRITE THIS DOWN. In the space of less than an hour these poems came through ---companion poems to the poems he had already written. She has lovingly and beautifully laid out the poems (his typed; hers hand-written) and elegantly designed the pages with simple fluid colorful brushstrokes (note the cover), that make the entire package a work of art as well as a remarkable testament to a love that has clearly gone beyond " Til Death us do part" and entered a realm where "love IS eternal" ---as enduring as the thunder and the wind.
These poems by a man and a woman in love ring true. Death has not diminished rather has enhanced their love. I felt connected as I read them, and so I have recommended that friends who have experienced loss read "Crossing the Rubicon"; many have loved it. The wonderful glorious colors deepened my appreciation of Heidi's writing.
Heidi Connolly's book is an exquisite book of poetry. The drawings, the colors of the pages, the words in her own handwriting, all come together to make it a true work of art. This a conversation between two lovers in this world and beyond.
